Easter Banner with the Cricut Explore

Hi Crafters,
I love quick little home decor projects. We have a post on the side of our fireplace between our great room and kitchen. I have a little screw that I use to put up seasonal decor. Here's some fun spring Easter decor I made last weekend.
I started with 3 simple banner pennants and used several cricut images to make it perfect for Spring.

The egg is from Gypsy wonderings. It's cut from a thick glitter paper, I used the custom glitter paper setting on my explore and it cut perfectly.

The rabbit is from Give a Hoot.
The little chicky is from A Child's Year. I cut it first in cardstock then I used some heat and bond on the back of felt and cut it on the felt setting using the strong hold mat. It did well, it struggled a bit with the feet but I wasn't planning on using those so it was no sweat!

Thanks for stopping by,

Who is in {Labor} Day Cut it Up Challenge: Babies

Hi Crafters,

This week over at Cut it Up! we are celebrating Labor Day with new arrivals! My sister is expecting a little boy in November so I created a scrapbook for him to document his first year.
I used New Arrival for the intro page. I outline the letters with marker and cut white rectangles to size for the information.

"It's a Boy"is also cut with New Arrival and "Family is from Gypsy Wonderings. I think this elephant paper is adorable, most of the patterned paper in this book is from DCWV Boys will be Boys stack.

The title for this page is from B is for Boy cricut cartridge. I cut the light green circle from Mini Monograms.

This page has 8.5x11 chevron paper that has been stitched on my sewing machine. The Moments title is from Gyspy Wondering

The sentiment is from Stretch Your Imagination and the snow flake is outlined with makers and cut from A Child's Year.
This is my favorite layout! I love all the bright colors and spring patterns. Spring is also from Stretch Your Imagination.

Do you recognize this layout? Check out the details from my previous post
Autumn is also from Stretch Your Imagination.

I included a place for my sister to document the milestones. I cut tags from George and Basic Shapes and Tags Bags Boxes and More.  The letters are from Don Juan.

Dr. Seuss Cut it Up! Challenge

Hi Crafters,

Welcome to my first challenge as a Cut It Up! Design team member!

This challenge is Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss, in honor of his birthday this month.  Be sure to stop by to craft along with us and link up to the original post over at Cut it Up!

I used the gel pens to write the sentiment.  The font and cap are both from A Child's Year. I embossed the background with my cuttlebug.

Don't forget to swing by the other designer's blogs to check out their projects!

Felt Playhouse

Hi Crafters,

Happy New Year's Eve!  2011 was full of wonderful memories and blessings for my family!  Here's one of the last projects made in 2011.  This one was a huge team effort, my mom, younger sister, and I worked diligently during parts of Thanksgiving and Christmas Break.  This past summer I stumbled on these felt playhouses on etsy from MissPrettyPretty.  She has some beautiful work!  She also sells a pattern PDF filled with tricks, tips, and directions including everything you could think to put on these houses.  I convinced my mom (I don't know how to sew) to purchase the pattern to make this for my niece for Christmas.

The house slides over a card table (and she includes how to measure your table properly).  It took us 4 solid work days to complete this project.  There is a TINY bit of cricuted work on this house.  My niece loves ducks so I made a template using ducks from  A Child's Year.

My niece loved it!  We were thrilled with the way it turned out.  We used the eco recycled acrylic felt from Joann's.  My parents also got me a Husquvarna Viking Emerald 183 for Christmas/birthday this year.  We used it for the project and the machine handled the whole thing like a champ!

Happy Crafting and Happy New Year!

2012 Calendar

Hi Crafters,

I made a calendar for my mom for 2011.  When her November birthday rolled around she planted the bug that she hopped she'd be getting a new calendar.  I had already started on her 60th birthday gift, I just didn't have time to put a new one together.  Luckily Christmas was right around the corner!  I used my bind it all with 3/4 inch black rings.  The month titles came from Designer Calendar.  The font on the front and silhouettes are from A Child's Year.

The cat is from Teresa Collin's Chic and Spooky cartridge.

She was so excited to open this up on Christmas.  I hope you are ready for 2012!

They're getting hitched!

Hi Crafters,
I've had to keep a HUGE secret the past few weeks from my best friend.  Yesterday her boyfriend (my husband's best friend) popped the question.  Her fiance and I went to look at rings a few weeks ago and he got the perfect one.  We celebrated yesterday afternoon with them.  I managed to do an entire scrapbook in one week.

I used a bunch of cartridges (life's a beach, a child's year, lyrical letters, storybook, camp out, martha stewart elegant cakes, sweet hearts, gypsy font, indie art, and old west) to complete the layouts.  Click on the layouts for larger pictures.  Unfortunately I was having a few exposure issues so the pictures are not up to par.  The couple seemed to like how it came out.  Congratulations Martin and Jessica!  I am so excited for you both!

Happy Crafting,
