{DIY Kids Valentine Kit}

Hi Crafters,

Valentine's Day will be here in less than a month. It's one of my favorite holidays to craft for...pink is my favorite!
I grabbed a few flatrate boxes from my local post office and filled them with some DIY goodies. I love the idea of subscription craft boxes for my nieces and nephews but they are REALLY expensive. I was able to make these with supplies I already had on hand. I cut out some hearts and used the cricut explore to write out "you" in a fun valentine's font I downloaded.  I included some glue dots so there wouldn't be a big mess for almost 5 year old niece or almost 2 year old nephew. I threw in some googly eyes to complete the "eye heart you" sentiment. I prefolded some A2 cards in various colors and included envelopes as well.

I printed out some labels for the boxes and added some pink and red washi tape to complete the package and off they went in the mail. I hope they enjoy crafting up some valentine's love!

Valentine's {Pop up Card Box}

Hi Crafters,
Happy Valentine's Day! Here is the Valentine I made for my husband this year.  I used this SUPER easy to follow tutorial from Split Coast Stampers Pop up Box Card
The lady bugs are cut from Create a Critter. I did one pink and one red. Our house is, as usual, a home to hundreds of ladybugs this year. I thought it was fitting for my valentine.
The text is from Designer's Calendar. The little hearts are from Sweethearts. I used a floral pin to hot glue the hearts. The embossing is a nestabilities double sided embossing folder.

When it's collapsed this is what it looks like. It's a BIT too big for an A7 envelope. It was super easy to make and I love the final look!

Valentine's Wreath

Hi Crafters,

One of my favorite holidays is coming up! It allows me to use as much pink and glitter as I want and it's artistically acceptable.

Here's a wreath I made for my poor backdoor that still had my autumn wreath up!

I took a wire wreath form and a bunch of scraps I had in the loft. I used ribbon, cotton fabric from a jelly roll, deco mesh, jersey scraps, and tulle. I cut them in strips and tied them around the wreath filling it out. The middle was looking a bit bare so I cut out a bunch of hearts on my Cricut. Most of the hearts are from Sweethearts. I glued the hearts on some bakers twine and tied that to the wreath. I had some larger heart cuts that I glued onto the wreath proper. It's perfect for Valentine's!

Thanks for stopping by love bugs!

{Cupid's Tushie} Happy Valentine's Day!

Hi crafters,

I created a few Valentine's day cards last weekend.  I recently discovered this adorable cupid on the Sweetheart's cartridge (you may remember him from my door decor)

I ran the background through the cuttlebug with the swiss dots folder.  I used the cricut markers to outline Mr. Cupid.
I stamped the sentiment and added some washi tape and bakers twine to the sentiment piece.

I hope love is in your air!
Happy crafting,
xoxo

{Valentine's} Door Dec

Hi Crafters,

I had my college roommate in town this weekend. While she spent time cutting away on her cricut I messed around as well.  I whipped up this quick and easy Valentine's door hanging.
I started with a wide satin ribbon.  I used the Sweethearts cartridge for the images.  The pennants are from Birthday Bash.

I cut two  8.5x2 1/8 inch strips and scored them for the rosettes behind the scalloped circles (from Mini Monograms).

I used markers to outline the images before I cut them out.  Look at that adorable little cherub bum! I think he may also appear on my cards this year.

I finished off each pennant with some ribbon and twine. I hot glued the pennants to the ribbon and made a loop at the top for more ribbon and twine to secure it to the door hook.

The best part of all...I didn't have to purchase anything! I love it when a project comes together like this.

Happy Crafting
xoxo

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hi Craft Loves,
Happy Valentine's Day!  I hope your day has been filled with love!  My inspiration came from a pinterest pin.

Here's a card I made for my husband this year.  I used Martha Stewart Elegant Cake and George and Basic Shapes.  I used a piece of 12x4 paper and scored it every 2 inches for the joining piece. I carefully folded the letters to the fan fold of the red letters.I used 2 4.25x5.5 inch pieces to attach.  I added some buttons and a few girly stamps to top it off.

Triple Threat Valentine's Day Cards

Hi Crafters,

I mentioned in my previous post that my parents purchased me a new sewing machine as a gift.  My mom specifically chose the Husqvarna Viking Emerald 183 for me because of all the extra stitches it had thinking I could use it for paper crafting as well.  I finally got it up and running after a bit of a bobbin casing user error issue.

I lowered the pressure on the presser foot for sewing on card stock and it did beautifully!  I call these cards a triple threat because they have sewing, cuttlebug, and cricut (on most) of them.

I stitched a heart boarder on the edge of the cards.  I used swiss dots on the white background.  I used several 2x2 cuttlebug embossing folders for the embossed images.  The dicut hearts are from George and Basic Shapes. The ones that aren't stamped on the outside are stamped on the inside with the same sentiment.  The stamp is a studio G stamp and fit the theme perfectly!  Click on the pictures for larger images.

Happy Valentine's Day

Hi Craft Loves,
Happy Valentine's Day! I hope you haven't gotten blown away.  We've had strong wind all day long!

These cookies are for my husband.  I made the knock off "tagalong" cookie by sandwiching peanut butter between 2 ritz crackers and dipping in melted chocolate.  I then used the cricut cake mini to cut out fondant for the top.  It was even easier to use the machine this time and it was only the 2nd time I used it!
I dipped a few strawberries in the leftover chocolate...yum!

Here is the valentine I made for the CraftyMr.  I used the Wild Life Cricut lite cart and shaded the deer with a bit of pigment ink.

We are having a quiet evening at home with lobster tails for dinner.

Valentine's Sweetheart Card Series Part 2

Hi Crafters,

I have recently started up a facebook fan page.  I would love to have you "like" my page.  I will use that page to post project updates and any good deals I find floating around!

Continuing with my Valentine's Card series...
This sweet kitty is from Sweethearts.  I used a white gel pen to add in some details and those cute dewy goggly eyes just added the perfect sweet touch.  I think this one will be for my niece.

Happy Crafting,

Simple Valentine's Card

Hi Crafters,

I made this card with the hearts embossing folder for the cuttlebug. I put a bit of ribbon and a few buttons with glue dots and called it a day.
I used the coredinations paper from the so mod pad.
I have so much fun with Valentine's Day projects...maybe because you can put pink on anything?

Happy crafting,

Valentine's Cards

My driveway is at the bottom where the trees slightly part. I'm not going anywhere!

I am a huge sucker for Valentine's Day. I have always enjoyed it. It takes everything I have not to go and buy just about every Valentine's decoration I see. I made a few little Valentine's with the past few snowy days we've had. It looks like we may have another snow day tomorrow.

Details on the cards:

I found the love mini cuttlebug folders on sale recently and thought they were too cute to pass up. I am a huge fan of the joy fold cards and they are the perfect size to use the small 2X3 cuttlebug folders.

The edge punch is one of Martha Stewart's I got for 3.00 after Christmas.

I used the core'dinations paper on the side with the hearts cuttlebug embossing folder.

The little girl and her dog are from A Child's Year.
