Wedding Gift Scrapbook

Hi Crafters,

I hope you had a nice Labor Day!  We had the day off from school and even though we've only been in a little over a week it was much needed!  I was inspired by a fellow crafter (and fellow Dec '07 wife) who created a scrapbook for her brother's wedding.  Check out her finished book Here.

I started working on a wedding gift for one of my college roommates.  She is getting married at the beach in the beginning of October. I used a lot of cartridges through out.  I will try to list which ones I used under the layout.

The font for this is Gypsy font.  The date is from Designer Calendar.  The & symbol came from Lyrical Letters and the background shape is from Storybook.

The paper is a mix from a Core-Dinations pack, Black Currant, and just black and white cardstock.  The Bride and Groom words and the hearts came from Sweethearts.  The accents behind Bride and Groom are from Storybook.

Here Comes The Bride comes from Sweethearts.  The larger accent is from Storybook and the smaller accent is from Stamping Solutions.  The sand dollars and seashell are from Life's a Beach.

The I Do adn Mr & Mrs are from Sweethearts as well.  The True <3 is from Gypsy Wondering. The scalloped circles are from Mini Monograms and embossed with the Swiss Dot folder. I used a DCWV Summer 2010 mat stack for the photo mats for these. 

This is one of my favorite layouts from the bunch!  The family is from Gypsy Wonderings.  The green strips are glittery (from a 2009 DCWV Holiday Stack) and line up when in the book side by side.

The fonts for this layout are both from Lyrical Letters (I adore the fonts on this cart).  I am not sure where the accent is from but I think it's Storybook and I am totally smitten with this accent. It is so pretty and it cut really nicely for a more intricate design.

This is all I have done so far.  I'm a little more than half way done.  I will post the final project pictures.  I must say having the Gypsy really did help me organize and speed this process up.  I sat down before I started and picked the theme for each layout so I knew what I needed to do.  When I went organize things with the Gypsy I could easily plan out what colors I wanted to use for the different accents so that the book would flow nicely.

Bridal Shower Card

Hi Crafters,

I made this for a friend who is getting married in less than a month.  Her bridal shower is coming up next weekend and I am not attending but sent her a little package this weekend.  This card is from Sweethearts and it is embossed with the cuttlebug using the textile folder, swiss dots, and d'vine swirls.  Be sure to click on it for a larger image to get the full embossing effect.  The textile folder really makes the lingerie have a more lace like appearance.  I used the black and pink core-dinations paper in the background.

Sweet

Hi crafters,

Just a couple of quick cards for you all.  The first one is an engagement card. I just think this silhouette of this couple is so sweet.  This is for a co-worker who got engaged a few weeks ago.  I added a bling for the ring and embossed it with the cuttlebug.

As I was working on this card I was also inspired to scrap a few pictures from my proposal spot as well

My husband proposed at my childhood home.  We had moved and he made arrangements to borrow the dock from the new owner.  It was a perfect night. I went back later and took some pictures across the lake of the dock.  This sweet little couple is from Sweethearts, as is the heart.  The font is Lyrical Letters

This sweet shoe is from Gypsy Wonderings.  I used the black currant stack from DCWV.  The gray is embossed with swiss dots and then punched with a MS edge punch.

Scrap Challenge

Hi Crafters,
I was on a card making roll today! I would like to get another box off to Operation Write Home in September because they are having a Birthday Challenge in honor of their "birthday" in September and want people to make and donate cards!  There are events going on all over the US if you are interested go check them out.

I pulled out my big folder of scraps and was determined to make ONLY scrap cards today.  I did not use any cricut on these but did lots of dry embossing with my cuttlebug, picked some great patterned, and used stamps for  my sentiment.  I came up with some great cards, but because I had so many I didn't set up my make-shift formal photo station (ie cream pillow case with a small canvas easel and blinds open on the floor by my sofa).  I did snap a few pictures of them "tucked" the proper way into their envelopes.  I was so excited to get my very own Operation Write Home stamp so I could help the lovely shippers save time and do what I could to help out.

The little bunny card that has the purple and gold card was inspired by my little sister. She just started her senior year at college and these are her university's colors (I made one for her too).  I think the sentiment for that cards is adorable, "Sending you sunshine and laughter".

Baby Payton's Shower Follow up

Hi crafters,

The shower was a great hit.  We had a great time and the parents to be got some wonderful gifts!

If you remember my video from a few posts ago I showed you how to make these cute onesies for the banner with This Video. I should have closed the blinds so you can see the letters better but it says, "Welcome Baby Payton"

I made this card for the gift as well.  The blue background and the sentiment are both cuttlebuged.  The background is embossed with spots and dots and done with the core-dinations paper and sanded.

A Few Winter and Christmas Layouts

The weather has finally started to cool off a bit! I must say I am really looking forward to fall in the mountains!  I created a few wintery layouts in the past weeks. They turned out really cute!

The font from this is from Storybook I combined two of the features on this and welded on the gypsy.  The gingerbread house is from Stretch Your Imagination.  I used stickles along the icing and the gumdrops.

The next layouts are pictures from last winter.  We had an INCREDIBLE amount of snow!  We had two large snow storms in our area within a month of each other.  The second one put us out of school for almost 2 weeks.  We typically get less than 10 inches on average in a year...this past year we had almost 50 inches of snow.  It made for some great pictures!

The heading for this page was cut from the Gypsy cartridge. First I outlined the headings with cricut markers in blue, then I ran it through upside down and then put white Martha Stewart glitter.

The word winter is from Stretch Your Imagination and the numbers are from A Child's Year.

It's a Boy!

Hi Crafters,
I made the final touches on my "sneak peak" project at the end of the baby banner video.

I made this using New Arrival for the animals (the giraffe also had the spots cut out of it with the gypsy using squares and triangles).  The palm tree is from Life is a Beach.

I also made a diaper cake for the shower.  This cake has about 50 diapers in it.

The ribbon is from the dollar bin at Michael's.  The onesie is from New Arrival and also uses the cricut markers.  The shower is coming up soon and I hope she will like the gifts!!
