More Walk in my Garden

Hi Crafters,
Have you entered for a chance to win 3 stamps sets?  Enter by Friday for a chance to win see the Post Below to post a comment.

This post is a continuation of my post earlier in the weekend. I cut this funky little turtle from Walk in My Garden at 2 inches.  I took a scrap of the cream cardstock and ran it through the cuttlebug twice using one of the skinny boarder folders and added a quick stamp.

Walk in My Garden

Hi Crafters,

I participated in a card challenge today with a friend.  I wasn't in the mood to pull out the gypsy and tinker with things today so I grabbed Walk in My Garden and used the cricut the "old fashion" way. It actually worked out well for what I had in mind.  I got this great stamp set a few weeks ago from Walmart and envisioned stamping the centers of flowers with these cool circular patterned stamps. I cut these on shadow at 2 inches.  The leaves were cut at a variety of sizes varying from 3/4" to 1 1/2".  The tags are actually blades of the grass from Walk in my Garden with holes cut in them using a small hole punch.  I cut those at 2 and 3 inches. I used the cuttlebug to emboss the background.

I added some bling and buttons to the various cards just for a little extra oomph. These have been stamped with Operation Write Home and tucked into their envelopes for shipping.

I have a few videos uploading one with details for my giveaway this week!  Keep checking back!

365 Challenge: Crush

Hi Crafters,

I got several things done around the apartment and while I was waiting for the next OWH challenge to post I found another challenge to participate in.  The challenge was to make a card with the theme of "crushes". I made this with this cute embossed bee with hearts.  I then stamped with an xoxo stamp around the edge and added brown "stitching" with a marker. I embossed the green with the swiss dots folder. I used some twine around the top and glued everything together.

Operation Write Home Challenge: State Flag

Hi Crafters,

It's been a while! I have a new project for you today.  I am participating in the Operation Write Home challenge day (check them out on facebook http://www.facebook.com/opwritehome to see the challenges for the day.  The first challenge this morning was to make a thank you card with inspiration from your state flag. I'm from Virginia so I had a few shades of blue, a splash of purple, and a hint of green. I saw this as a great opportunity to get my card mojo back.  I made this card with a few layers and the cuttlebug.  The back piece is 4.25x5.5.  The purple layer is 4x5.25, and the dark blue is 3.5x4.0.  I ran the dark blue layer through the cuttlebug and stamped the purple layer with green ink.
My other challenge I am working on is cleaning between challenges.  So I'm off! I'll check in again in a bit!

New Cricut Community

Hi Crafters,

There is a new cricut community in town.  It's called Let's Cricut.  They have a message board which is just getting started.  The really cool thing about this community is it has a great gallery in the works.  People can upload and tag cartridges or techniques (vinyl, cards, layouts etc).  People have already uploaded some great stuff.  My name is also CraftyMrs there.

I am about to go make some cards.
