ABC Album

Hi Crafters,
My friend from Crafting with my Girls hosted her semiannual scrap weekend at her parents' lovely home last weekend.  I got a few personal layouts done but my main project for the weekend was my niece's ABC album.  I used my cricut and pictures that I had ordered but not done anything with.  I only had to order 8 more pictures to finish the album.

The dinosaur is from Create a Critter.

The lighthouse is from Life's a Beach
Please pardon the fact that O and P are reversed. Octopus is from Life's a Beach
The crown is from Gypsy Wonderings
Umbrella is from Life's a Beach
Hearts and XOXO are from Sweethearts. The zebra is from Create a Critter.

Freezer Paper Totes

Hi Crafters,
Here's a few tote bags I made this week.
The font is from Lyrical Letters and the lady bug is from Walk in my Garden.  She's too young for buttons and googley eyes still so I kept it simple.  The bag is a mini tote bag so it will be perfect for this little girl.  Michael's had them on clearance for .79, it was in the section with a bunch of other summer items.
This is another gift for a bride-to-be.  I used my Jolee's Heat Affix tool to add some bling.  The swirls are from Gypsy Wonderings and the text is from Songbird.

If you are interesting in making your own freezer paper totes/tees check out my picture tutorial here.

Stamp Storage

Hi Crafters,

I had a great time at the CHA super show, but I must admit I was a bit disappointed. Most of the vendors at the Super Show were small business vendors. I did have the pleasure meeting several of the small vendors that I was not aquatinted with!  Taylored Expressions was one of those vendors.  She sells stamps and dies as well as crafting accessories, all of the people at her booth were fantastic! I was only able to go the first day (which was also the last day of the trade show) so it is a possibility that there were some new (larger) vendors later in the show but it didn't appear to be set up for more vendors.

Taylored Expressions actually inspired my stamp storage revamp.  I found this fantastic mini-binder 8.5x5.5 inches at Staples.  The large Taylored Expressions stamp sets with the 3 holes fits perfectly into this binder.  I cut 11x.85 inch transparencies in half on the 11 inch side at the 5.5 inch mark to make my own stamp holders.

Check out the video to see it in action and to see the details!

***Edit: It's July 25th not August on the sale dates.  I would be in a world of hurt if it was August 25th, it would be well into the school year! Thanks Carrie!

My Pink Stamper Design Team

Hi Crafters,

I have had several good friends get engaged this summer.  This project is one that I've been thinking about for a few weeks but needed a kick in the pants to get it done.  My Pink Stamper is hosting a design team call, so I took the plunge and decided to apply.  The challenge was to use the colors, orange, brown, green, turquoise,  a color of your choosing (white for me), and your favorite cricut cartridge (Storybook is what I chose).   I would LOVE to be on the My Pink Stamper Design Team!  Robyn does such a great job making the cricut a tool that everyone can learn to use!

I made a wedding squash book/organizer using my bind it all.

Here are the specs
Front and Back Outside Covers (all the measurement units are in inches)
Chipboard for the covers- 9x11.25
Orange DCWV- 9x5 1/4 embossed with swiss dots and Frills boarder set
Turquoise Print DCWV Flower Power- 9x4
Brown 9x3 1/2
ATG tape on the VERY edge of the paper is the adhesive I've found to work the best.

Front Details
Storybook Cricut Cartridge
C- Fancy/Corner  3 inches
L and M- cut at 1.5 inches
Welded on gypsy and embossed with textile folder
Marquee white cardstock (page 66 in handbook) cut at 4 inches

Ribbon
2 pieces 9 inches.  I used a match to singe the edges to keep from fraying.
Attach on inside of cover BEFORE attaching white paper.  I used several pieces of double sided tape under and over the ribbon.

Inside cover
White- 9x4
Pocket
Green- 8 1/2x11 measure 1 3/4 inch in on both sides and cut diagonally from bottom corner.  I put ATG tape on the folded sections leaving the inside edge open because that edge will be sealed with the binding rings.

Dividers
8x11
Tabs 3 1/2x 2 folded in half on the 3 1/2 length.  Use ATG tape to glue then fold over each side of the divider.

Inside Spreadsheets
Spreadsheets include
  • To do list
  • Gift records
  • Address Section
  • Contacts
  • Blank Paper
Would you like a copy of the spreadsheets I created? Wedding Squashbook Spreadsheets Click Here Please feel free to share and change as needed.

Thinking about true squashbook fashion I included blank white paper and envelopes for extras, such as business cards.

Here is the back cover.

If you made it this far thanks for checking everything out!  All of the pictures are clickable for a larger view.

Mrs. C To Be--I'm sorry if you are seeing this here the first time.  I hope you like it and can't wait to give it to you with a few other goodies!

Beautiful Lengths

Hi crafters,

I can't believe summer is well on its way!  This post is long overdue!  My co-worker and I issued a challenge to our school.  We have two teams (think Harry Potter) green and gold and MANY opportunities for the students to earn points through out the school year.  We challenged the teams to see who could get the most points by the end of the year.  We agreed that who ever lost would get their hair cut by the winning team's teacher.  Team green won but I ended up also donating as well.  We chose to donate to Pantene Beautiful Lengths.  We each cut about 8 inches off.

Believe it or not this post DOES have a craft purpose!  I wore a custom freezer paper T made with Plantin Schoolbook.  The back side says "Gold is Green with Envy"

Here you can see our cricuted banner.  We used the Heat and Bond Ultra Hold to make this banner.  The background is felt and the letters are cotton.

This picture I slightly cheated.  I took this picture today after going for a trim so this was not the original hair cut but very close to.  My salon just started feather extensions so I had my amazing stylist throw one in for fun.  This was my 4th hair donation, and because most places will not take hair that has been processed I thought this feather would be perfect!  It should last about 4 months.

I just purchased a Yudu machine and tried it out for the first time last night! Pictures to come :)

Hello Thursday June Third Release

Hey Crafters,
Provo Craft released the THIRD Hello Thursday cartridges for June last night. Click Here to see the cartridges that were released. Several of them are designed to have themed birthday parties and others are more specific (flowers, frames, and boxes).  The best part..... they are $30.00! I was pleasantly surprised to see the price.  I am really liking Flower Shoppe, Sweet Tooth Boxes, and Fancy Frames.  How fun!

Happy Friday and Happy Crafting,
