{So Thankful} Cut it Up Challenge!

Hi Crafters,

It's challenge time over at Cut it Up! This session you need to create a thank you card or project!

I used the leaf is from Flower Shoppe. It's outlined with the cricut markers and cut at 2.5. I sewed a cross stitch accent down a strip of brown paper.  The sentiment shapes are from Teresa Collin's Sophisticated cartridge.

{Giving Thanks} Thanksgiving Project Cut it Up!

Hi Crafters,

This challenge over at Cut it Up is all about Thanksgiving.  Be sure to link up your Thanksgiving project using a die cut!

I love setting a pretty table! It's in my genes, my Grandmother and my mom both had a knack for table decor.  I decided to make some place markers for my mom's table.  I used the cartridge Flower Shoppe to cut these maple leaves at 2.5 inches. 

I outlined the leaves using a brown cricut marker.

I used the Martha Stewart score board to score the leaves in half.

I folded on the score line and put ATG glue down the side and assembled them together with the fold going in.

I used a gold pen to write the names on the side.

I had some left over strips from my paper so I trimmed the strip down to 2x5.5 to make napkin rings. I glued a matching leaf over the seam.  I'm so looking forward to a beautiful Holiday season filled with family and many blessings!

{Happy Halloween} from Cut it Up!

Hi Crafters,

It's almost time for Halloween! I had so much fun with this challenge from Cut it Up!

I used Teresa Collin's Chic and Scary cartridge for my die cuts on this card.  I created a side step card using a great tutorial from Split Coast Stampers

I used several cuts for this card. The spider and web are both from Teresa Collin's Chic and Scary, the pumpkin is outlined in marker and is from Gypsy Wonderings.  Halloween is from Designer's Calendar.

Think {PINK} Cut it Up Challenge

Hi Crafters,

There is a new challenge over at the Cut it Up Challenges, this challenge was to include pink in your project for Breast Cancer Awareness month (and of course include a die cut).

I created a pink birthday project.  The happy and the large flower die cuts are from Walk in my Garden. I welded this to the birthday cut (from Designer Calendar).

{Going in Circles} Cut it up!

Back to School with Cut it Up! {Custom Teacher Plan Book}

Hi Crafters,

It's back to school time over at Cut it Up! This challenge is to create an altered notebook.  This is one of my favorite projects so far! I suppose I should adore it since I will be using it almost every day at work.

As Cute as A Button

Now onto the nitty gritty details...

I covered chipboard on both sides for the cover.  The flourish is from Teresa Collin's Elegant cartridge and the font is Opposites Attract.

I created a 1 page style weekly planner.  I only have 1 prep so I was able to divide the page into sections: Day of the week, Classwork, Homework, and Meetings.  The headers have a space for the dates and the unit.  There is a space at the bottom for notes. One Prep Excel Planning Page click the link for the excel file.  I set it up with 2 tabs adjusting the margins to accommodate the binding for a front page and a back page.

Did you notice that Michael's gift card? That's my snazzy DIY page marker. I used an old Michael's gift card and punched holes with my bind it all.  I then took a pair of sharp scissors and cut small slits into each hole and cut off a small piece of the plastic to allow the rings to slide more easily into the holes. I have it positioned here not using the very top hole so it stick up to create an easy to find tab.

This section has a parent communication log.  It is very easy to keep up with emails through the virtual paper trail.  I am not very good with keeping up with phone calls.  I'm hoping this will keep me accountable for this aspect next year.  The columns are labeled: Date, Student, Parent, Number, Reason, Resolution. Parent Communication Log Excel Page 

I also included some blank white paper at the end. I jazzed it up a bit with a monogram.  This will come in handy at the meetings that I attend throughout the year. Lastly I cut the top off an envelope and added that to the end before the back cover.   I used my bind it all to punch the holes bind everything together.  

This is one of those projects to NOT wait until the day before you head back to the classroom to work on! I spent a couple of work sessions preparing my documents and putting everything together.  I hope this inspires you to get your year off to a great start!

Celebrate Summer at {Cut it Up} and Paper Nest!

Gosh, summer is flying by so quickly! I've been enjoying all the visitors that have crafted with me in the loft this summer! Our next challenge is to celebrate summer at Cut it Up! is sponsored by Paper Nest.

This adorable little fella is Boogie Board Owen. I used a mixture of Stampin' Up! markers and copic markers to color him.  This was my first time coloring printable stamped images, let alone people! The wave frame is from Stretch Your Imagination and the waves are from Life's a Beach

This summer fun little lady is Strawberry Girl.  I used a card from Stretch your Imagination and put a circle in the middle of the front.  I cut the card in half and used that for the card front.  I stitched along the side with some embroidery thread and my sewing machine.

Spreading Christmas Cheer at Cut it Up!

Hi Crafters,

The challenge for this session at Cut it Up! is Christmas in July! Wedding season is also in full swing! One of my favorite add on gifts to give at showers or weddings is a personalized ornament for the couple.

Everyday Cricut has a great tutorial on how to make these ornaments with pledge floor wax and ultra fine glitter. I prefer the squished round ornaments, it makes it easier to apply the vinyl. The script letter is from Martha Stewart Elegant Cakes cartridge, the rings are from Sweethearts, and the black font is from Opposites Attract. 

I added some tulle, ribbon, bakers twine, and raffia to finish off the tops.

Red white and blue {vinyl} star twinkle toes

Hi Crafters,

Happy Summertime! I love warm sandal weather!! I'm also a big fan of pedicures, but it's an easy way to spend that money! I especially like getting some fancy details on my big toes, but again that costs extra money. This is my cheater pedi method.  My husband said I have an illness, I really will find a way to cricut/vinyl everything!

I started out with Zoya's Reva which is a fabulous red/pink color with some fun glitter, perfect for 4th of July festivities!

I used the cricut vinyl to cut out the star from George and Basic Shapes cricut cartridge. I cut out the shadow of the star in navy blue and the top layer in white. I resized them with my gypsy to make them fit on my nails. I put a layer of clear top coat on top to protect the vinyl.

{Trendy Twine} Red, White ,and Blue Cut it Up Challenge!

Hi Crafters,

Our friends at Trendy Twine sent us some fabulous twine to work with for this challenge!  I hope you enjoyed the Father's Day projects last month.

I have a wedding this weekend to attend.  The trendy twine dressed up the cake carrier perfectly! I always struggle when I have those awkwardly shaped objects to wrap. The twine dressed up the carrier  so no wrapping paper or boxes are needed and allowed me to attach a tag with washing instructions.

I used Mini Monograms for the monogram.  The cake carrier is done in navy blue and white vinyl.  I also added their last name under the C after I took the picture. 

I also used Mini Monograms for the card. I laced up the circles with trendy twine.  I've used several other brands of twine and I have to say this is the best quality I've worked with! It's a great heavy weight and the colors are beautiful!
